I'm watching Christopher Hitchen's on In Depth on Book Tv the weekend program on C-Span2. *yes, I'm a freak*

Man, this guy know's how to answer questions. And I have to say the callers were on point and asked very interesting questions and he takes them and derives very pointed, focused answers from his vast studies that succinctly address what the callers and mailers are asking. I really respect that. And when he didn't have an answer, he just said he didn't know. I find I agree with a lot he's saying. Not all. I don't think there's anyone I'd agree with wholly. And that's as it should be. If you can catch this on replay, try to. If you follow cultural criticism or atheism, it's very interesting. I'm looking forward to reading his Jefferson Bio.

Black Snake Moan.

Well, I'm still struggling with why I liked this so much. Partly I think it's visually stunning. Like successive covers of 50's pulp novels. Just scene after scene was painting quality. Visually yummy. And yeah, Christina Ricci which, hubba hubba. And mostly or totally naked. I like the idea of playing with finding someone who won't give up on you. I'd always hoped it would be me of myself but that's not always possible, is it? So being saved, forcibly, against my will is one of my kinks. And what could be more sensual and visually striking as being chained around the waist? It's very provocative, isn't it? I'm glad they made a distinction between nymphomania and being sex positive. I'd also say the music was so emotionally charged. I loved it. And Sam Jackson singing the blues? W.O.W. I really loved that. I'd go as far as to say I'd buy the sound track.
