Visually stunning. Everything else about it pales in comparison. Loved Natiri until JakeSully became a member and she became sort of shrill and clingy. Sigh. Lots of racial and indigeonous issues. All that aside, I didn't blink for three hours.
YES! I loved him. I don't know, maybe I connected a little too much with him and not with her, though I did in the beginning. But it was good. Soooo good.
Really? I was so stoked about it during the first teasers, before they revealed the animated bits, and I was eee!James Cameron and eee!Sam Worthington, and then they started showing longer trailers with that cheezy looking animation and my heart broke a little.
But it's good in spite of that? Or somehow because of it?
I don't know, I though the effects were awesome. The gal I went with thought so too. That's the whole point in seeing the show. The story's old and tired, the acting was either over the top or ordinary and the moral was dry as dust. That along with the gender and indigeonous issues make the film problematic. But the visuals, they are STELLAR.
I watched a special on this evening on HBO, specifically to see if I could try to like the character design better. The use of expression is particularly impressive! I might have to rethink my stance on it...
