How much do I love the Mounties carrying in the flag? So much. In my mind, one of them is Fraser and Ray's at home eating popcorn keeping the bed warm. Sigh. Also? How much moxie and guts does it take for a gal to sing the national anthem before the A COUPLE BILLION PEOPLE? A LOT, I'd wager.

I know that some First Nation people worked with the Olympic organizers. I'm glad for it. I still feel weird.

Also? There are all sorts of ages, sizes and widths! And a Crone! Hai hai hey, hello Mdm Crone!

More amazing dances and dress.

Oh boy, the telecasters need to just shut the fuck up about how nice it is to see the first nations but this is really about athletes. Wow, rudeness?

The Orca whales gave me fucking goose bumps, omg. And Sarah Maclachlin! Hi! *loves*

The light show is totally amazing. I take back everything I was thinking about Bejing being better. This is AWESOME. Canada, you make me proud. Also, Surprise!Donald Sutherland is Surprising! Canada, will you be my girlfriend?

Where are the pix of the J's and SO's at the Opening? Also? Let the Olympic AU's Begin!

5.14 was not the grossest thing I ever saw. I reserve that for some war footage I've seen. Also, Jensen really brings the angst. He's always brought it. And I could imagine Jared sitting in a chair, A La Laurence Olivier, beer in one hand, phone in the other, letting out blood curdling screams while getting hammered and texting Gen.

Last night I had a conversation about Judy Chicago's Dinner Party and I suddenly remembered that I'm smart!
It's amazing what sleep debt will do to your brainz, also lack of protein. So I'm back on protein but have stopped dairy and wheat. And the results were immediate and amazing. My puffiness went away like overnight! And I'm sleeping. Like real, deep, REM sleep. Cool on levels! I'm just hoping to get my hdl and ldl down below 195. If I can do that? I'll be v v happy. Cause otherwise, I'm doing pretty well: bmi 26.7, not horrible. Resting bp 110/70 which it always is and blood glucose is good and my good cholestoral is ok. I'm wondering how as veggie I got such high bad cholestoral but I think it's the oils I was using on salads and such. Let that be a lesson. Also, getting protein as a veggie is way way harder than it looks.

TED is this week and I've really had to resist ditching everything and driving down to LB and helplessly fangirl everyone who exits the building. I love the bears of big brain. Smart=sexy. For me. Everything's being loaded immediately onto www.TED.com. And Jamie Oliver got the TED prize for innovation! I'm so glad. Hai Jamie! Such a little cutie and a CHEF! Yay!

Also, I'm watching The Four Horsemen on Documentary Heaven. Dan Dennett (with whom I have issues of misogyny), Christopher Hitchens (issues also but not the ones most have), Richard Dawkins (unreserved love and adore) and Sam Harris, (my introduction into atheism) talking about the challenges of engaging faith in conversation. There is NOTHING I love more than watching and listening to smart people say smart things to each other. Also? when they get excited, they still turn into little boys. V v funny.

Olympic commercials are way better than the superbowl ones. LOL. I hate coke but I love their ads.

Long post is LONG!
