Why I hate Dude Music

I went to your concert and didn't feel anything by Silvana at Tigerbeatdown


This. Just so much this. And yes. Sometimes, I'm at work and I'm boppin to some brainless piece of dude music and I realize I have not heard a female singer in forever. And on some stations, that's true. It's not like women singers aren't out there or that I don't know who they are or even about they're music. It's that guy music is so so so ubiquitous, so completely part of the everyday, that I'm surprised by my own surprise.

Recently I filled my sansa clip with all women singer song writers. I foolishly said to myself, there aren't that many, I'll just put them all on my clip. There were hundreds. Many I didn't know and many I did. But there were far far more than I remembered. Chantal Kreviazuk is my current fav but I like early Sheryl Crow, accoustic and Natalie Merchant. I actually don't have any KD Lang. I don't know why cause I love her voice.

I'm home sick. Again so this bit is just passing strange before I crash.

I listen to a lot of female vocalists. Mostly because I listen to a lot of soul/r&b. I'm trying to balance out some gender with hiphop stuff, but that's harder.
