What a crappy day. Been tired, cranky and clumsy, which I hate more than anything.

Baked an apple crustata, pie and lemon merangue tart. also caramel nut tart. Got home. Roommate asleep so tried being quiet.

Room mate attacked me and I ended up wasting a perfectly lovely tart on her zombie ass to distract her so I could get the gun from under the kitchen sink. That mess is going to leave a stain on my carpet. Damn zombies.

Packed up the car and headed south to get the boy. I thought we handled this last year? What, did I miss the apocalypse or something?

Anyway, had to break into Big 5 for more amo and picked up an over and under while I was there. Bet that I.O.U. note I left is going to crack them up tomorrow. If anyone bothers to show up.

Just need some water and rations and we're outta here.

Managed to get the boy and a couple of the cats. Lost one to the zombies but he was old and slow...I'll miss that ol rascal.

got gas cans and the pathfinder. burned through more ammo gettin gas but it was worth it.

Downtown Long Beach is ruined and deserted. The highway is just barely passable. Saw some folks I know...felt real bad about shooting them. they'd been dead for days by the time I hit them.

Word is the zombies are storming the beach, not half a mile away. I've boarded up the windows and doors, and we're all taking refuge in the basement. The stairs are booby-trapped, and I've got every gun loaded and every knife sharpened.

My neighbors sandbagged the end of the street before the zombies got 'em. I'll never forget how they sacrificed themselves for the rest of us. Had to shoot 'em when they got up again, of course, but it's not like that was their fault.
